Many patients present with cosmetic dentistry concerns and desiring a more natural and attractive smile.  A complex cosmetic dentistry case as she is missing her upper lateral incisors which was treated with custom designed porcelain veneers and laser gum recontouring.  In addition her concerns were:

Advanced Porcelain Veneer design to change the smile!
  1. Worn teeth
  2. Discolored teeth
  3. Fillings that keep falling out
  4. Size of the front teeth

A factor in smile design I feel some overlook is the size of the teeth to each other, or what we call the proportions of one tooth to another.  The missing laterals are much smaller than the cuspids in their place.  To compensate for this advanced techniques were used to create  a smile with appropriate tooth proportions.  Additionally, laser gum recontouring was utilized to recontour the gums as well.

Notice the natural contours of anatomy and design incorporated into the porcelain veneers.

Dr. Konig explains, ” Layering of porcelain in the design of the veneers is paramount to creating a beautiful smile and not having what patients call chiclets.”

There is an artform to cosmetic dentistry and porcelain veneers. The lower teeth were artistically recontoured for an improved appearance as well and the bite also improved.
