Porcelain Veneer Smile Design to Correct Gum Recession

Everyone has different needs and concerns when it comes to their smile.

Dr. Konig explains,  ” No two smiles should ever be the same, everyone is an individual, and custom smile designs create exceptional results based on what the patients want to see.”

Listening to the patient’s concerns is paramount to designing a beautiful smile that the patient desires.  In this porcelain veneer case, the patient was unhappy with the following:

  1.  Crooked smile line
  2. See-through gray appearance of her teeth
  3. Gum recession
  4. Discolored fillings
  5. Bite not comfortable
  6. Narrow smile
  7. Brightness

She also wanted to do minimal and conservative dentistry. With careful planning and smile design, her objectives were met and she loves her smile.  Minimal prep veneers were designed and also covered up the discolored fillings.

Custom Veneer Designs Change the Esthetics of the Smile

When designed shading on the veneers several layers of porcelain shades were utilized.  Also, note how the teeth were slanted to the right and now she has straight teeth without a slant.  Before treatment, her bite was hitting the front teeth first which also contributed to the gum recession.

It is easy to see how attention to detail helps to create a smile based on the patient’s desires and concerns.  Every smile should be custom designed for the individual.
