Five Excellent Cosmetic Techniques

Five Excellent Cosmetic Dentistry Techniques

Considering improving your smile? For those dentists who constantly stay update with new technology, there are a wide range of new esthetic options, many which are more conservative and effective than the older methods. The list below discusses some new and exciting esthetic choices:

1) Durathin Veneers: these are the first highly esthetic porcelain veneers that I have seen that can be prepless veneers (no tooth grinding) . The technique of fabricating these veneers still allows for us to place multiple shading and translucencies to look beautiful and natural. These cannot be used on all patients, however, there are a lot patients that can benefit from them including tetracycline stain patients.

2) Power Bleaching: this is probably the only truly effective whitening protocol that works for darker stained teeth.

3) Artistic Recontouring of the teeth: if you are happy with the color of your teeth, but not completely happy with the shape, many times we can artistic re-shape the teeth and even make them look straighter. Truly a conservative and highly under utilized procedure in todays world.
So many of our patients are amazed and happy with this process. Additionally, we artistically recontour porcelain veneers to enhance the esthetics and customize the smile to the individual.

4) Gummy Smiles: Diode lasers allow for eliminating unesthetic gummy smiles with no pain!
The use of lasers is an excellent way to increase the length of the teeth and decrease the gummy look.

These and many more techniques continue to evolve and give our patients more choices based on their needs.
