Are all Porcelain Veneers the Same?

Are there different types of porcelain veneers?

Although there are differences as discussed below, the artistic skills of the dentist and ceramist are more important.

Minimal prep porcelain veneers: These are the most common type of porcelain veneers. They are made from a thin layer of porcelain that is bonded to the front surface of the teeth. They are highly durable and can last for up to 10-15 years with proper care.

No-prep veneers: These veneers are thinner than traditional porcelain veneers and require little to no tooth preparation. They are best suited for patients who have minor cosmetic issues such as small chips or stains. It is also important to note that the teeth need to be in a certain position or these types of veneers can appear bulky

Lumineers: Lumineers are a type of no-prep veneer that are even thinner than traditional veneers. However, these often do not have the ability to be designed with natural properties from an artistic standpoint.

Emax veneers: Emax veneers are made from a type of ceramic that is highly durable and resistant to chipping and cracking. They are an excellent choice for patients in terms of strength and esthetics. There are a wide range of shades and translucencies that allow beautiful esthetics.
