Worn Teeth and TMJ Pain: Bite Correction and Beautiful Pain Free Smiles

Worn teeth and broken teeth are often tell tale for misaligned bites and/or TMJ pain.  It is easy to see how this ladies misaligned bite prematurely wore her teeth down. Notice she had multiple crowns placed through the years as they continued to break. She felt as if she did  not have a home for her bite and suffered from facial pain as well as felt as if her face was aging too.

Dr. Konig explains, “One of the keys to successful long term treatment is bite correction first, you have to know where you are going and that the patient looks and feels good as well.”

Too often, teeth are restored to the existing worn down bite and then the teeth are constantly being ground down in constant state of repair.  There is much more to dental health than just decay and gum disease.  Many cases can be restored conservatively without having to grind all the teeth down and without braces or surgery.

As for TMJ Pain, bite correction and non-surgical bite alignment is what we term neuromuscular alignment  of the head, neck, and face. This TMJ treatment is helpful to treat headaches, jaw pain, and even tinnitus in many cases.

Dr. Konig treated this case in a manner of a non-surgical facelift in the dental office, first correcting her bite then restoring her teeth to the correct physiologic bite and function.  Notice the change in the lower 1/3 of the face which is more youthful and not sagging and a gorgeous symmetrical smile!
