For many years, prepless porcelain veneers were not a very cosmetic treatment option. This was due to non-vital appearance of the porcelain and inability tolayer the shading of the veneers as well. A new porcelain, called Durathin, in the hands of skilled dentists and ceramists, now allows us to use prepless or minimal prep veneers in many cases. Lumineers have been around for some time and are big advertisers, however, it is my opinion that they do not come close to the aesthetic capability of Durathin Veneers.
The advantage of these veneers is conserving tooth structure. They cannot be used in all cases and are not ideal for all situations. However, they can be used for tetracycline staining cases which is a great benefit!!. The case above illustrates a case of prepless veneers immediately after placing them.
Notice the nice texture, anatomy, and shading of these veneers which enable a natural and beautiful appearance.
