Different types of Dental Implant Dentures

Many patients are not aware that there are different types of dental implant dentures that might benefit them.  For many patients, the use of an overdenture which clips onto what we call locator abutments (see photo), is really a successful way to anchor dentures in place so that they do not move when eating and talking. These are very strong and have received excellent patient acceptance. A second type is called a hybrid implant denture such as All-on-4.  As the name entails, this is a denture, however, it is fixed in the mouth and cannot be removed. It is completely resting on implants and not on the gum tissues. This fact allows me to design the hybrid dentures to be much smaller than the overdenture mentioned above.
