Can a Tekscan Help me With My Bite?

A Tekscan is a high computerized occlusal (bite) analysis that is used to take the guess work out of adjusting the bite.  This applies for all cosmetic dentistry and TMD cases as well,  The conventional way that dentist adjust bites is to use what is called “articulating paper”. This is something like double sided carbon paper.  Using the Tekscan allows a higher level of care and finishing for patients so as to increase the longevity and comfort of dental care.

The Tekscan provides real-time data  and pressure so that dentists can properly see where the bite needs adjusting as opposed to asking the patient “how does that feel?”.  This enables those using this technology to evaluate and adjust the bite using accurate digital data as well as pinpoint contacts on the teeth.

Being able to accurately see what is happening takes the guesswork out of  bite adjustments for dentists.  This translates into better care and hopefully increased longevity of the teeth and restored teeth.
