Can Porcelain Veneers Be used to Change the size of my Teeth?

Porcelain Veneers, when correctly designed, can be used in Cosmetic Dentistry to create longer teeth and a more full smile.  Care must be taken with the smile design with respect to the patient’s bite, lip line, and facial size.  Artistic skill is needed to ensure the size of the teeth does fit the patient’s face.  The photos demonstrate how advanced porcelain veneer design was used to satisfy what she did not like about her smile: short teeth, unproportional teeth, yellow teeth,  asymmetrical smile,  not showing enough teeth when she smiles:

The photo clearly shows the differences that can be acheived and at the same time maintaining a solid and functional bite so that these will last a long time.  It is also important to notice the proportion of the teeth to each other.  This is another essential component of smile design.  In overview, porcelain veneers can be used in many ways to improve and change smiles.  A veneer is not a veneer and each case should be designed for the individual respecting all paramaters of that patient as well as listening to the patient’s desires as well.
