Can Dental Implants Look Natural and Be Used With Porcelain Veneers?

Can you detect the dental implant and implant crown in this photo?

Can you tell which is the dental implant?

This patient had traumatized the labeled tooth as a child and finally had to remove this tooth. She had also always desired a beautiful smile as well.  Dental implants, as are porcelain veneers, and art and science where smile design and planning are essential to successful esthetic outcomes.

This photo shows the dental implant crown and the porcelain veneers
Before: crooked, chipped teeth, and hopeless tooth needing to be removed

There are numerous implant factors to consider:

-preservation of gum tissue architecture and anatomy during tooth removal and implant placement

-Type of implant (there are hundreds of companies, many much better than others, especially for specific cases)

-Position of the implant in the bone

-Harmony with natural teeth

These factors and her smile design were all planned beforehand.  The veneers are also custom designed which accounts for the:

-Shape, based on desires and facial features

– Lustre, amount of glaze or shine desired for  esthetics

-Anatomy, these are smoother which reflects more light

-Proportions of the teeth to one another

-Bite, or the way the teeth meet together

All factors combined artistically and functionally lead to long term health and a beautiful and radiant smile.
