Can Dental Implant Crowns Look Natural?

Dental implant dentistry can also considered cosmetic dentistry in nature as well.  Creating  a single front tooth  with a dental implant to be esthetic and functional is a challenge and requires attention to detail. Properly planned dental implants can appear to look natural and blend in with the natural teeth.  Many factors need to be considered to obtain results similar to the photos below:

The central incisor was broken at the gumline and extracted, an immediate implant was placed as well as an immediate crown:  The following planned techniques were utilized:

  1. Atraumatic extraction with bone level implant
  2. Temporary abutment and crown fabricated to preserve the tissue architecture and tissue height
  3. Anatomical long term zirconium abutment to natural tooth shape and size
  4. Custom shaded multi-layered ceramic crown to blend in with the adjacent central incisor

The photos show how the tissue can appear normal, pink, and healthy along with a crown to blend in with the other teeth.  Texture, color, antatomy, luster, and transparency are all built into the final dental implant crown.
