A Case of Dental Bonding versus Porcelain Veneers

Worn and chipped teeth

Dental Bonding and Reshaping of Teeth

The highly trained esthetic dentists can usually offer several treatment options for patients looking to enhance their smile.  In the case above, the issue was whether to use dental bonding or porcelain veneers.  The patient only wanted the front teeth to not look worn and broken, color was not an issue to her.  It is important to note that not all cases have to be 8 or 10 porcelain veneers or bonding.  Having a wide range of cosmetic skills allows the true cosmetic dentists to help patients with their desires and still acheive nice results.

Bonding was selected for treatment as it was very conervative and no tooth grinding was necessary.  The adjacent teeth were artistically recontoured or reshaped to create a nice smile.  It is easy to see the significant change in her smile and the differences that can be achieved with bonding and reshaping.
