This photo shows a lower fixed dental All-on-4, Teeth in a day type prosthesis and an existing upper denture. Nobel Biocare coined this term, however, more than 4 implants are often used. These “bridges” are firmly anchored in place by implants and are fixed, patients cannot remove them. Most patients love this type of bridge as they do not feel like dentures and offer patients a sense of security as well as the psychological advantage of always having teeth in one’s mouth. This lower hybrid is made of zirconium which offers many advantages over the resin type.
In this case, the dental implants were placed and the fixed hybrid bridge placed in the same day. This means the patient never had to go without teeth and the lower hybrid bridge was secure and cannot be removed, allowing patients to eat, chew, and function without a lower denture flopping around.
Another benefit is that the surgery is faster and easier on patient’s who may have needed sinus lifts and bone grafts. Recovery is also much faster as well as having teeth that day! Additionally, this case was planned with no guesswork as a 3D scan was utilized. With the 3D scans we are able to see everything in 3D to plan this case.
