Patients often wonder about the cosmetic results when having a dental implant placed on the front tooth. With proper planning and implant selection the results can mimic mother nature. In this case, the upper left front central incisor had to be removed as the tooth failed years later secondary to a childhood accident. The tooth was removed, an immediate dental implant was placed in and a temporary crown placed the same day. There are several advantages to this technique. The first being that no flipper or partial is needed during the healing phase for the dental implant. The second is that we fabricate the tempoary crown to preserve the gum tissue architecture which improves the cosmetic dentistry results.
The photos show porcelain veneers on the adjacent teeth as this patient desired white teeth and did not like the shape of the other teeth either. A dental implant crown was designed for the implant which was all porcelain as well. The photos show the beautiful results of the dental implant and the healthy gum tissue around the implant as well.
