I wanted to share with you, what Meeting of the Minds is. Four years ago, at a meeting in San Diego, four neuromuscular dentists and I were visiting after a long day of meetings at the IACA.

We came across the idea of starting an exemplirary study club which would have 12 select neuromuscular dentists, all with similar training and from different states in which we would meet once a year in our respective cities to continually share and update ourselves advancements in dentistry from TMJ, Cosmetics, and sleep apnea as well as difficult cases and computerized neuromuscular dentistry. Each of us is required to do a presentation and discussion, whether it is a difficult case or things that can help us provide better care and technology for our patients.

This year was the third year and I was excited to have hosted it Houston. All 12 dentists loved our city and the meeting that I was able to put together was exceptional. In addition to our presentations, we had two outside speakers as well. Discussions ranged from prepless porcelain veneer technology to dental sleep apnea appliance advancement, and new modalities in TMJ treatment. It was truly an intense and mentally challenging 3 days.

Truly, we all feel that this is the most amazing and knowlegable group that each of us feel privledged to be involved in. Rather than make this only a one a year meeting, we have set up an email forum amongst us in which we carry ongoing discussion to keep learning from each other and to continually provide our patients with the finest care possible.
