Esthetic Driven Implant Dentistry

Esthetic Driven Implant Dentistry: The Future is Now

The science of implantology has continued to evolve through the years and is one of the fastest growing segments in dentistry. The focus of implantology seems to have emerged from simply getting the implant in the bone to placing the implant in the best position for function and esthetics. In other words, the days are gone when we try to place the dental implant and then make the esthetics and function work.

These photos show a case in which a central incisor is extracted and an immediate implant is placed followed by an immediate temporary crown on the implant. The patient presented with a high smile line that displays the entire tooth when smiling, thereby creating the challenge.
Notice the excellent gum tissue contours, shape, and shade of the crown to create a natural blend with the natural teeth.
There are many advantages to this procedure. When correctly implemented, it preserves the soft tissue or gum architecture which is essential to esthetics. Since a temporary crown is immediately placed. There is no need for the patient to wear a temporary flipper or denture.
If you have any questions with regards to dental implants, please feel free to call our office, Ronald W. Konig DDS, FAGD, LVIF, a Houston Implant Dentist, 713-668-2289.
