CPAP INTOLERANCE
The use of a CPAP for sleep apnea problems certainly works, however, there is a huge population out there that will not or cannot tolerate wearing a CPAP machine. Truth of the matter is that they should or utilize some of the other non-surgical alternates. Amazingly, this population is not aware of the options of using a
Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) that is fabricated by trained dentist who should also provide home monitors to help adjust the appliance for maximum benefit and to ensure the the apneas are controlled. There are many types of MAD's that can be fabricated. These are much more comfortable than CPAPs and are well tolerated by patients.
An additional benefit is the ease of traveling!! Most MADs can fit in a small retainer size box.
